Description

Spinach Monterey F1 is a popular variety of spinach that is easy to grow from seed. This variety is known for its large, dark green leaves and its resistance to bolting, which means it will continue to produce leaves for a longer period of time.

The best time to sow spinach seeds is in early spring or late summer. In the spring, sow the seeds as soon as the soil can be worked and the danger of frost has passed. In the late summer, sow the seeds about 6-8 weeks before the first expected frost.

To sow the seeds, prepare the soil by removing any weeds and adding compost or well-rotted manure. Sow the seeds thinly, about 1 cm deep and 30 cm apart. Water the soil well and keep it moist until the seeds germinate, which should take about 7-14 days.

Once the seedlings have emerged, thin them out to about 10 cm apart to give them room to grow. Spinach prefers a cool, moist environment and will benefit from regular watering and mulching to keep the soil moist.

Harvest the leaves when they are young and tender, before they become tough and bitter. Spinach can be eaten raw in salads or cooked in a variety of dishes, making it a versatile and nutritious addition to any meal.
